Coriander leaves and turmeric powder face pack for blackheads
Coriander, also known as cilantro is exceptionally high in folate, antioxidants, vitamin C and beta-carotene. All these properties protect the skin and slow down the process of ageing.
Coriander also encourages the body to produce collagen and it reduces the overproduction of sebum, which is the natural oil the body produces to keep the skin moisturized. However, when sebum is produced excessively, it can cause pimples and blackheads.
Turmeric is a rhizomatous herbaceous flowering plant of the ginger family. The root is dried and blended into a powder and often used in South Asian cooking. It is also known for its medicinal properties and often used in homemade skincare remedies.
Turmeric has excellent anti-inflammatory properties, it can also act as a powerful antibacterial agent. Therefore, if you often get pimples, introduce turmeric into your weekly skincare routine.
What You Need for Coriander Leaves and Turmeric Face Pack
1 tsp of turmeric powder
Handful of fresh coriander leaves
-Crush the coriander leaves using a pestle and mortar
-Add the turmeric powder
-Add enough water to form a paste
-Mix well until smooth
Apply the mixture to a wet face, leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. Pat face dry.
Warning: Use turmeric with caution, ensure that you do a patch test prior to applying it to your whole face. Also, do not use turmeric on a daily basis, once a week or twice a month is fine.
Aloe Vera Face Pack
Why Aloe Vera?
Aloe Vera contains proteolytic enzymes which repair dead skin cells and reduce inflammation. Typically, Aloe Vera is used for burns and the gel-like substance found in the plant has potent anti-inflammatory properties.
Use one to two tablespoons of pure Aloe Vera gel and spread a thin layer onto clean skin. Leave for 20 minutes or until dry. Rinse off with warm water and a clean face towel. Pat face dry.
Honey and Garlic Face Pack
Honey has powerful anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Make sure you use high quality Manuka honey instead of ordinary store-bought honey which is often mixed with syrup and other unrefined sugars.
Garlic is anti-microbial, it contains a chemical compound called Allicin which helps to decrease the redness and inflammation of pimples.
However, here is a big warning, do a patch test prior to applying raw garlic to your face because Allicin can also cause painful blisters on the skin. Therefore, use in moderation.
-1 tsp of garlic oil
-2 tsp honey
½ tsp of organic oat flour
Mix all ingredients together until well combined. Apply to your face, leave for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry with a clean face towel.
Sandalwood and Rosewater Face Pack
Genuine Sandalwood can be found in India, Nepal, the Pacific Islands and Australia. Sandalwood taken from the Sandalwood tree is often found in essential oils or used as natural air fresheners. It can be blended into a powder and used in natural skincare products.

Sandalwood has astringent properties which causes contraction of skin tissues. Thus, tightening the skin and cleansing the skin of unwanted impurities.
Rosewater also acts as an astringent and it cleanses and purifies the skin as well as soothing irritation and reducing redness.
To Make Sandalwood and Rosewater Face pack For Pimples:
Take two tablespoons of sandalwood powder and mix with one tablespoon of pure rosewater. Use more rosewater if the mixture is too dry, you want a smooth paste-like consistency.
Apply the mixture to a clean wet face, leave on for approximately 20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water, pat dry with a clean face towel.
Besan and Curd Face Pack
Why Besan and Curd?
Besan, also known as chickpea flour or gram flour is often used in homemade skincare recipes because it absorbs excess oil from the skin and cleanses the skin of undesirable impurities.
Curd is produced when full fat milk coagulates, it is used as the base for cheese. It is often used in homemade skincare products because of its creamy texture, but also because it contains lactose. Lactose acts as a natural exfoliant and it aids in the removal of unsightly dead skin cells.
What You Need For Besan and Curd Face Pack
-1 ½ tsp of besan powder
-1 tsp of curd
-Mix the besan and curd in a clean bowl until well combined.
-Apply the mixture to your face making sure you avoid the sensitive eye area.
-Leave on for 15-20 minutes or until dry.
-Rinse off with warm water and pat dry with a clean face towel.

Be cautious and take care not to burn yourself during your steaming session. Once you have steamed your face, use a simple solution of rosewater and plain water to tone your face.
Dip a clean cotton wool pad into the rosewater and plain water solution. Wipe off any excess dirt and oil. Finally, splash your face with cold water to seal your pores.
